Your Test Day
Once you have passed your theory test and we feel you are ready to book your practical driving test, we will discuss booking it with you for a mutually agreeable time and date. The fee for the test is currently £62 weekdays, £75 in an evening, at weekends or over a Bank holiday and is payable to the DVSA.
Mission
Our mission is to place "Safe drivers for life" on the UK's roads, not just people who can pass their test, and our training reflects this. As part of your training on the run up to your test we will also offer you the opportunity to have a different Instructor from the GL Team join one of your lessons and conduct a mock test for you, this is to enable you to get a feel for what it will be like on the day of your test and to highlight any areas in which you may need extra tuition.
Day of the Test
On the day of your test your instructor will pick you up at an agreed time, usually about an hour before the time of your test. You will drive to your test centre town where you will have some time to go over any last minute areas with your instructor that may be concerning you. We will aim to arrive at the test centre 5 minutes before the time of your test. The tests are planned to usually last between 30 - 43 minutes, once finished your Examiner will tell you the result. There will be time for you to go over anything which may have happened during the test that you may wish to discuss with your instructor. Your instructor will drive you home after the test. The whole event usually last around 2 1/2 hours in total, and for this we charge £130
