Fees & Payment

1. Payments are to be made upfront for your initial booking to secure our services – subsequent lessons are to be paid 48 hrs before the lesson, and if the payment has not been made on time, our instructors reserve the right to cancel the lesson(s) and/or reallocate your space. If you decide to pay by making a block booking payment, then block booking payments are due in advance of your first lesson, at time of booking, to secure your space. Subsequent block booking payments should be made before the last lesson of the previous block booking, to secure your on-going place in our dairies.

2. Lesson fees will be quoted at the time of booking and may be increased at any time, but we will advise you of any pending increases to fees and will honour any remaining block booking payments already made, at the previously agreed price.

3. All fees should be paid by BACS payment, unless directly agreed otherwise with your instructor.

Lesson bookings

4. Lessons and test day dates are not considered booked until paid for and confirmed by your instructor. On the day of your lesson, please be ready for your lesson at the agreed time. Please inform your instructor as soon as possible if you have been delayed. Our instructors will inform you if they are running late.   Our instructors will patiently wait at your agreed pick-up point for 15 minutes. It is your responsibility to come and meet your instructor. Our instructors will attempt to contact you once by text/phone when they arrive. If no reply is received promptly, our instructors will leave, and you will be charged for the whole lesson.

5. We like to do our best to offer people the same lesson slot each week, BUT THIS IS NOT GUARANTEED, and may not always be possible due to other commitments like other peoples tests. We will however offer alternative lessons within that week where possible.  Driving tests are given priority over lessons, however we will give as much notice as possible to those whom we may need to move or cancel.

6. You are required to give a minimum of 48 hours' notice should you wish to cancel or re-arrange a lesson. For anything less than 48 hours you will be charged for the missed lesson. If you are sick on the day of your lesson, let your instructor know as soon as possible to give them a chance to try to reallocate your lesson space that week.

7. Excessive cancellations, regardless of notice given, and long periods in between each lesson session, may result in us withdrawing our services.

8. If you decide to put pre-paid lessons on hold for any reason, we will not refund any monies in the event of you deciding to not take-up those lessons later. We will provide the lessons owing at a mutually agreeable time, which may not be the same day/time as was previously. However, once a period of six months has passed since your initial payment for those lessons was received, the pre-paid lessons will be lost/forfeited.

9. Driving lessons purchased as part of a package or as a block booking are non–refundable once lessons have commenced.

Your Driving Licence

10. We will need to complete a licence check before your first lesson. Pupils must inform their instructor immediately if they receive any endorsements on their licence during the time they are receiving tuition.

Use of your instructors driving school car

11. GL Driving Ltd. reserves the absolute right to refuse, at any time, the use of our cars for any test/lessons if any of the following situations arise:

  • If your driving is considered *below the standard required* for the test, or it is considered you are not likely to reach the required standard in the time available, we will withdraw the use of our car in the interest of public safety. Your instructor will always give a minimum of a week's notice providing you haven’t come to the instructor at short notice of less than a week.

  • If you appear unwell, too tired/sleepy, or to be affected by the influence of alcohol or drugs including medically prescribed drugs. In any of these events, you will be charged for the whole lesson as its your responsibility to know if you are fit to drive.

  • If any fees remain unpaid.

12. In the event that your instructor accompanies you to your driving test and your test does not go ahead due to your negligence, for example you have booked the wrong day or test centre, or in the event of you using your own vehicle for the test and it is deemed unfit for test by the examiner, you will still have to pay your instructor in order to cover their costs and time.

13. All refunds are subject to a £25.00 Admin fee

  • In the unlikely event that you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, at Gert Lush Driving Ltd. we will do our best to deal with any complaints received and aim for a quick and agreeable resolution. Please do not hesitate to speak to your instructor if there is anything that you are unhappy with to give us the chance to try to remedy the situation.
